We all know those parents that hold onto their children too tightly. The fathers have a tendancy to watch over daughters, while mothers protect their sons. But, is it always good for parents to protect us and fight battles for us. To make choices for us every day until we finally can break free and live life our way?

I don't think so.

I used to be protected, they;d choose my friends, they'd organise so many tea parties so i could socialize. But I grew up being shy, and unable to create my own friends until I turned 14. This made highschool very awkward for me. But By the time I was 16 I had developed my own personality, a real me, I became more confident and especially Independant. However, even now I carry a strong dependance on attention and love. I get anxious if im not being told im loved every minute.. It's annoying but it can mean life and death to me.

But I'm not typing this to bitch about my parents. I'm pissed off at the mother of . I think if he wants to go to a movie he should be allowed to! He's 17 and arrgh, it makes me so mad when parents just protect their kids too much. "Don't go out with them, they're not a good person." What defines a good person?, "Don't do that it's bad." How so? "Don't have sex!" Isn't it natural, cant you just say 'be safe, be smart' and let us make memories on our own, we'll learn after if it was wrong.

I just wish people would give their kids space. Let them grow. You cannot live their life for them. They need to learn about the world on their own. Guide them, teach them to follow the rules and to be safe smart. Don't make choices for them, god knows if you'll regret it later or if your choice was incorrect.

I'm sorry for my rant, but thsi isn't the only case I've been annoyed with. Just take a look at those 4 year old beauty pagent kids. If they want to do it, fine, but if its the parents choice.. god no.
